Over 30 years ago, John Shoemaker started out in this business as the
manager of the Enco station that once stood on the Northeast corner of
183rd and Harlem.  It was at this gas station that Tinley Auto Repair &
Towing, Inc. came into existence.  From those service bays, John did
everything from airing up tires and oil changes to overhauling engines.  It
was from this more than humble beginning that Tinley Auto Repair &
Towing, Inc. became its own entity and moved to different locations along
Oak Park Avenue.  Then, in 1978, John and his wife, Linda, bought some
property in Tinley Park's first Industrial Park located on Duvan Drive
(175th and Harlem) and built the shop that Tinley Auto Repair & Towing,
Inc. still occupies.
Over the years, John and Linda built their business up by word of mouth
advertising and outstanding service.  By being a full service shop that is a
family owned and operated business, they were able to offeer a level of
personable service that can not be found in nationwide chains and
specialty shops.
John and Linda's son, Chris, worked alongside them up until 5 years ago
when they decided to retire.  At this time, Chris, along with his wife,
Tammy, bought the business from them.  Chris and Tammy continue to
operate the business with the same personable service and high quality
work.  The shop is equipped with all the diagnostic tools needed to
diagnose import and domestic vehicles.  Our mechanics are ASE Certified
with over 60 years of experience combined.
